In addition to the cycling tour on Thursday, we are pleased to invite you to the closing event of the EVERGREEN project on Friday, 11 September. During this event, we will present the project's key results and achievements.
Green façades contribute to climate adaptation and to creating a pleasant and liveable city. They also offer numerous benefits for people, the environment and the climate. To ensure these benefits in the long term, proper monitoring and a resilient approach to green façades are essential.
From research to practice
Over the past two years, researchers and project partners from Flanders and Germany have worked together to develop and validate innovative monitoring techniques for resilient and healthy vertical greening systems.
By monitoring green façades more effectively, issues such as plant stress can be detected at an earlier stage. This enables timely intervention and can contribute to extending the lifespan of green façade solutions and reducing maintenance costs. Monitoring also provides opportunities to better characterise green façade solutions and to substantiate their benefits, such as temperature regulation, air purification and noise reduction.
Results
During the closing event, researchers and project partners will share the key findings from the project. You will gain insight into the monitoring techniques developed and discover how they can be applied in practice to improve the monitoring and management of green façades.
The event will also explore opportunities to build on the insights gained through the project and to further optimise green façade solutions in the future.

Within the European CORNET project EVERGREEN, the University of Antwerp and Viaverda are collaborating with German researchers from IUTA (Institute for Environment and Energy, Technology and Analytics), Nürtingen-Geislingen University and Chemnitz University of Technology.
